Experts reveal characters attitudes through different fictional devices. In " The storyline of an Hour”, the author Kate Chopin, uses irony to expose Mrs. Mallard's attitude toward her fresh husband's fatality.

Chopin initial describes inside the story how a typical female might interact to her husband's death. " She did not hear the story as many girls have heard a similar, with a immobilized inability to take its significance. ” Many women would have experienced shock rather than want to take the fact that their husband had indeed passed away. Yet , Mrs. Mallard had a rather ironic reaction. She wept suddenly and wanted to be alone.
